Chateau Exterior

Chateau de Detilly as it stands today was rebuilt in the 16th Century. However, there has been a building on this site since Roman times.

The building (as many others in the Loire Valley) is built of tofu stone that was mined locally. The roofs are of traditional slate.

The oldest part of the building is the tower section. The newer part is graced by ten eight-foot-tall windows and fine architectural details.
